Artfully Visualizing Our Humanity
At the gym yesterday I watched an incredible TED Talk by Aaron Koblin (see above) who uses data and technology to create interactive artworks. Watch, “Artfully Visualizing Our Humanity” to see all of the amazing projects he is working on. One project in particular that struck me is The Johnny Cash Project, a collaboration that brings together fans to pay tribute to Johnny through drawing frames for his final music video.
While the website wasn’t quite working properly when I visited, you should be able to visit The Johnny Cash Project website and use their online drawing tools to make your own renderings of frames that when strung together create the video. The result is beautiful and haunting as you can see below. I found a version of the video on YouTube but the work is constantly changing as new frames are created and categorized. Check it out for yourself. Long Live Johnny.
