Salvaging History

*

The other day **Steve** brought Paul and I to see this condemned house down the road. The Danville Historical Society and the City of Danville are working together to salvage architectural details from this house before it is torn down. I was there as a curious observer and documenter. We didn’t find too many architectural details (some mantels and a door were salvageable) but we did find the remnants of some personal documents that partially held up through the years. I was struck by the ironic juxtaposition of these dignified documents against the crumbling backdrop of the house.

Enjoy, Mari
